Enrollment is limited and taken on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability. However, priority enrollment is given to currently enrolled families and staff members. If you are interested in enrolling, please call us at 845-2367 to check on available openings and to arrange a time to come and tour the center. Feel free to bring your child so that he or she can see the center. Please allow at least 30 minutes for your visit.
If there are openings and you wish to enroll, you will receive an Enrollment Packet which includes enrollment forms (medical forms, etc.) and a copy of the Parent Handbook. It is expected that parents will be familiar with and agree to all policies. A non-refundable deposit of the registration fee and the first week’s tution is due upon enrollment to secure the spots for your child(ren). You will receive confirmation of enrollment once all forms are turned in.
If there are no openings currently available, your name (child’s name and birthdate) can be added to the waiting list. There is no charge to be put on the waiting list. For those on the waiting list, parents will receive Parent Handbooks and enrollment forms when your child is placed in the program.
Once Upon a Time is not able to hold spots for any reason at any time. Please discuss any such situations with the Center Director.
Prior to your child’s first day at the center, please feel free to schedule times when you can bring your child in for a visit. It is a much smoother transition for children, and for all, if the children have been to the center prior to their first attendance day.
The first week’s tuition is due the Friday before the first day of attendance. After that, tuition is due each Monday morning for that week of care. You may place all payments in the mailbox located in the reception area next to the front door.
Verona Pre-K (District 4K Program) Enrollment: The Verona Pre-K program (VASD 4K program) is hosted within the community (in child care centers). The District contracts with individual child care centers each year. Enrollment in the Verona Pre-K program is a two-part enrollment process (a District enrollment and a child care center enrollment). The first and most important enrollment is done through the District. The school district will hold an enrollment day(s) in late January or early February. Parents of children that will be 4 years old as of September 1st of that school year will need to register with the District on these enrollment days. During enrollment, families will choose which child care facility they would like their child to attend. After the District reviews the enrollments, they will notify families of their designated child care center. The district will also notify the child care centers of the children that have been assigned to their location. The child care center will then contact the Verona Pre-K families assigned them to get the child care center enrollment process going.
Once Upon a Time develops class schedules in February of each year. Current families fill out registration forms at that time for summer and fall/spring programming. Once current family enrollment is complete, open spots will be filled by the waiting list and then the general public.
Only full time care is offered for children in the Infant and Toddler classrooms (approximately 6 weeks through 24 months). Full time children may not exceed 10 hours of care per day. Part time care must be either full days, mornings (between 6:30 – 12:00 a.m.) or afternoons (between 12:30 – 6:00 p.m.). Part time families may add a day but may not change or switch days during the week.
Changes in enrollment must be communicated to the Center Director as soon as possible. Please do so by either writing a note and leaving it with the Center Director or by writing a note in the Parent Communication Log located at the reception desk.
